About me... Neil G. Tarvin, DC![]() They say that printer's ink "gets in your blood." Must be true - I've been involved in graphics and publishing since I was 16 in every aspect from being a graphic designer to being a publisher... and have even run the presses a few times! Now I'm a "mature" baby boomer (sounds better than "aging") and I've been on the Net since it was little more than plain text. I've transitioned from printer's ink to electrons - and, believe me, the electrons are just as addicting as the ink! I currently run ebookgraphics.com - a content site for ebook authors and publishers. I'm an ebook (and print) author, editor, designer, and publisher with a little programming thrown in on the side. I specialize in helping people design great ebooks - from the inside out. The "DC" behind my name means I'm also a licensed Chiropractic physician. (Yes, when I was 46 I thought I needed a change from graphics, so I took a few years off to get my chiropractic degree. Manipulating bones, though, is not nearly as much fun as manipulating electrons!) Just before graduation, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and I was never really able to practice. So now I'm back in the publishing business - designing and creating ebooks for authors and publishers. My wife and I used to be "puppy raisers" for Therapetics, an organization that trains and supplies assistance dogs for the disabled. Ben, the Golden Retriever puppy in the photo with me was one of the service-dogs-in-training we raised. Ben, though, and our next service dog pup, Andy, both were borderline for having hip problems later in life, so instead of having to turn them over at age 1, we got to keep them and, for some years, we had 2 great Goldens. They died a few years ago. They were real characters. (See their pictures below....) Now my wife and I work with the local Sooner Golden RetrieverRescue. After fostering a poor, sickly, scruffy, heartworm-infested dog for a few months, we adopted him - this is Shadow. He's certainly not scruffy or sickly anymore! (He's in the pic with me to the right...) We still foster the dogs that need it, though, and it's rare that we don't have 2 or 3 Goldens running through the house at any given time! Over the last couple of years, we have fostered Dusty, Duncan, Sara, Sadie, Sam, and Brooke, among others. They have all been sweet, loving dogs and have since found forever homes. You can't go wrong with a Golden. If you live in Oklahoma and would like to foster or adopt a Golden Retriever, check out the Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue website at sgrr.org...Ben and Andy - our first Goldens.... ![]() Here's Andy and Ben... ![]() You can contact me via email here...
